This week has been super fun because the boy and I have got to spend the last couple days off together. This is a blessing and a curse because together, we love to eat good food and go out and explore the city. We ended up heading out to Wet N Wild for the day, eating some delicious foods at Sodo Sushi in Downtown Orlando, and met up with some friends for trivia last night.
Safe to say, we didn't exactly have the healthiest day. I've been experimenting with healthy recipes and recently came across this recipe on Pinterest for Mom's Ground Turkey and Peppers.
In saying that, I didn't have a lot of the ingredients and ended up adding and subtracting as I went. I did try with the initial ingredients, but found it to be a little bland. My secret ingredient is hands down the Sriracha Garlic Seasoning. It is the best seasoning in the cabinet and I use it in almost everything. If you haven't had it, you need to. Hands down, you're missing out. This isn't a sponsored post, it's just that it's that good. Here's the recipe that I came up with and hopefully y'all enjoy!
Sriracha Turkey and Peppers
- 1 pound of ground turkey
- 1 onion (diced)
- 1 yellow squash (sliced and quartered)
- 1 green pepper (diced)
- 2 tbsp season salt
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp parsley flakes
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp garlic sriracha salt
- Garnish with cracked pepper and Sriracha
1) Heat the stove with a little olive oil. Saute garlic and onion until slightly transluscent. Then add all the veggies.
2)Cook the ground turkey and break apart until lightly browned. Start seasoning with the season salt, paprika, and chili powder. Transfer back in to the same pan.
3) Start combining together until evenly mixed in. Then, pour in soy sauce, sriracha salt, and parsley. Season with pepper and Sriracha. Serve with a side of brown rice.
After all the naughty eating, this was delicious and a great option to eat at home. It's definitely one to keep. Happy Thursday and hope everyone has a great weekend. Off to work for now :(
